Allen has been installing quality carpets for over 30years. In 1993 Allen joined the NICF -national institute for carpet and floorlayers click on logo above to visit site and understand the importance of this organisation. On finishing his installation assesments Allen was awarded the status of "Master Fitter" – the highest grade that can be awarded. Allen has entered fitting competitions in his carrer. On the two occasions he entered the North West region he won making him the best carpet fitter in the North West of England. Allen fits exactly by the teachings of the NICF he never cuts a corner to save time , he is fanatical that gripper is correctly positioned which is different dependant on carpet thickness. Allen underlays stairs fully not just the treads this is a requirement from all manufacturers but rarely done. If fitting a woven product Allen will always seal every cut edge with latex a time consuming act but essential for carpet performance. Customer comments from Allens jobs speak for themselves. Allen Quotes "IF I put my name to a job it must be fitted perfectly"
Step 1
“gripper is the most important part of the job” Alans favourite phrase and he’s right the distance of the gripper from the skirting board is relevant to the carpet being installed how many times do fitters leave gripper down from a previous and different thickness of carpet – not a practice we encourage. Remember gripper is what holds your new carpet in place and keeps it under tension.
Step 2
Like gripper correct installation of underlay is paramount as Alan is NICF trained everything is fitted correctly. In this picture we see the correct preparation of a staircase underlay fitted fully from gripper to gripper most fitters fit underlay on the stair pads only which not only is incorrect but would affect a manufacturers guarantee should a problem occur.
Step 3
Perfect preparation makes for a perfect finish the carpet is under even tension looks neat and ultimately will last longer.
